Each of us gives and contributes to national defence to the extent that skills and opportunities make possible. It has been a great honour for me to belong to the organizations that founded the Carolin Illenzeer Foundation years ago. I have not taken part in missions, but I can use my skills and experience through the Foundation to support the men and women who do it daily, endangering their lives and health.
Krista Mulenok - Member of the Supervisory Board, Chairman of the Board of the Estonian NATO Association.
Each of us deserves to live in happiness. The least I can do is support the children, whose parents have protected Estonia at the cost of their lives, by working for the Carolin Illenzeer Foundation so that we can live in peace and happiness.
Renzo Rajaste - Member of the Supervisory Board, 1JVBr, Command Sergeant Major
I have been on a mission many times myself, and I know many men whose families are supported by the fund. The Foundation's work in support of injured and fallen families is vital. It gives mission soldiers the reassurance that their children will not be left without support in the event of anything happening. I am happy to coordinate the communication between the Defense Forces and the Foundation to contribute to supporting the children of veterans.
Liis Mure - Member of the Supervisory Board, Security Adviser to the President of Estonia
Due to work, I have been closely involved with Estonia's international military operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. Therefore, it is clear to me how important the soldiers participating in the missions are to the security of Estonia. I have also always felt a personal responsibility for the fact that Estonia sends our defence forces to places that are far from safe for them. So it is a great honour for me to participate in the work of the Carolin Illenzeer Foundation and to represent the Foundation's patron, President Alar Karis.
Riho Terras - Member of the Supervisory Board, Founder of the Foundation, Member of the European Parliament, Reserve Officer
The Foundation started when little Carolin lost her father. We started supporting his family to provide the father's shoulder that this child no longer had. This thought has carried me through the years, so that, if necessary, I can offer myfather's shoulder to the children through the Foundation.
Lauri Kurvits - Member of the Supervisory Board, founder of the Foundation, Entrepreneur, Reserve Officer.
In addition to raising money for children, one of the Foundation's aims is to point out that citizens can take initiatives. "It is not necessary to assume that taking initiatives should be only the responsibility of the state. Of course, this is primarily the duty of the state but as a citizens' initiative, it is worth noting. And contributing. By actions. ”
Iti
Aavik - CEO
Iti took over the management of the Carolin Illenzeer Foundation in the autumn of 2018. She has been active in the field of charity and youth for almost 20 years and worked in a youth centre with children in Tartu, been a support person in a Spanish orphanage and a shelter for women in Northern Ireland. Also, she has led the Baltic network in the field of community philanthropy, operated with responsible entrepreneurship, and trained communities in Estonia, Moldova and Tajikistan.
I have always
wanted to engage in activities that have more profound content, and that work
is a pleasure rather than an obligation. As a member of the Carolin Illenzeer
Foundation, I can see both the joy of giving and the gratefulness of those who
we support. I also consider the unity and brotherhood of arms that connect the
Defense Forces and those who have been on a mission to be very special.
